Mission Statement

Trips for Kids Denver Metro's mission is to empower at-risk and disadvantaged youth, using the bicycle as a tool to foster positive life skills, healthy youth development and a sense of fun and adventure.

Description

Trips for Kids Denver Metro uses bicycles to enhance the healthy development of youth. Since we opened our doors in 2004, we have served largely low-income, at-risk and disadvantaged youth from across the Denver metro area. We provide opportunities for youth to ride mountain bikes in our Ride program. Youth in our Earn-a-Bike program complete a hands-on training course covering the fundamentals of bicycle repair/maintnenace skills and safe urban riding while earning the bike they repaired. Lucky Bikes Re-Cyclery, our social enterprise, community bike shop located in southwest Denver, serves as a training site for our Youth@Work program and helps generate income to support our programming.

Trips for Kids is a fantastic non-profit... and the Denver chapter is a meaningful incarnation in the region. Looking forward to watching the Boulder program come into existence!
