The Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project (FCP) is an extremely well run organization that always projects a positive, caring and sound learning environment. Both retirees and high school or college students can routinely be seen working and learning side-by-side. The FCP has sound Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and takes ample time to teach a new volunteer the protocols and skills necessary to master one aspect of the spay/neuter process prior to introducing them to the next work station. As a result, volunteers get cross trained to work at various pre and post surgical positions. The FCP is a wonderful organization that is well worth any amount of time someone can afford to spend to assist the no-kill mission (in concert with rescue organizations all over the state of Washington) to reduce feral cat populations (and improve the quality of life of existing feral cat colonies) through timely spay/neuter as well as vaccinations and other services as needed.
