Cherokee County Humane Society

Mission Statement

The purpose of this society is to: work with the Cherokee County Animal Shelter, County Government and other animal groups for the prevention of cruelty to animals and suffering of animals, including the reduction of animal overpopulation and publicizing the benefit thereof; promote responsible pet ownership; foster programs for homeless, neglected and abused animals; provide humane education to the citizenry and youth; foster a healthy relationship between people and animals. The Society shall support shelter operations to insure a high standard of life for all shelter animals, to maximize reclaims, adoptions and foster opportunities and to reduce euthanasia.
