Mission Statement
The City of Rochester's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Human Services provides a wide variety of people-oriented services aimed at promoting the quality of life in the City, concentrating in the areas of leisure time; human services; natural resource development, maintenance and preservation. The Department administers the City's parks, recreation, employment/training, forestry, the Community War Memorial, public cemeteries, public market, and selected human services as a way of: ensuring a systematic City-wide approach to enhancing Rochester as a good place to live and visit; promoting comprehensive planning, coordinating and funding efforts aimed at securing adequate and effective human services and natural resources for the City.
