Mission Statement

Bergen County Court Appointed Special Advocates (BCCASA) is an independent, non-profit organization committed to advocating for the best interests of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and/or neglect and are under the jurisdiction of the NJ Family Court. BCCASA provides for a corps of trained volunteers who work to ensure that needed services and assistance are made available to children in placement while helping to move them toward safe and permanent homes.

Description

Bergen County Court Appointed Special Advocates (BCCASA) is an independent, non-profit organization that recruits, screens, trains, and supervises volunteers from the community to advocate for abused and neglected children. CASA volunteers are assigned to one child or family of children at a time by a family court judge. They are responsible for conducting an independent investigation of the case and reporting back to the court on the status of the child.
