Mission Statement

Tri-State Emergency Communications is an ALL-VOLUNTEER, Non-Profit, 501(c)(3) Association dedicated to providing public service and emergency communications to our community. While we do monitor CB channel 9 for emergencies, we also monitor other designated emergency channels on various bands, including General Mobile Radio Service, Family Radio Service (UHF band) and Amateur Radio, and are also licensed to operate in the Private Land Mobile Radio Service.

Description

our all-volunteer membership is comprised of and open to Trained Emergency Personnel, Radio, Telecommunications & Data Specialists, Craftsmen, Support and Logistics Specialists as well as Amateur and Public Safety Radio Enthusiasts. Offering services to the public such as Emergency Communication, Search & Rescue Support, Fire Scene Rehab Support and Emergency Lighting and Power to name a few. With such a diverse membership we are able to offer assistance in an emergency or crisis with fully trained and equipped personnel at a moments notice. Tri-State Emergency Communications maintains its own commercially and GMRS licensed repeaters as well as an extensive usage agreement on several commercially licensed Low Band and VHF high systems throughout the tri-state area, allowing us to put volunteers on the air without their being individually licensed. And because our principal systems are commercial in nature, we are able to work some public service events, or serve in rolls otherwise forbidden to folks using Amateur Radio only.
