The San Jose Conservation Corps & Charter School is a non-profit organization that provides youth with a quality high school education and teaches valuable work and life skills that empower them to become responsible, productive, and caring citizens. To accomplish our mission we emphasize the interdependence of education and work, and address the individual needs of socially, educationally, and economically disadvantaged youth.

Description

The San Jose Conservation Corps' Youth Corps program is a work/ study opportunity for at-risk students at Andrew Hill and Gunderson High Schools. Under the supervision of Americorps members, the after-school program provides an hour of homework assistance and two hours of paid community service, environmental conservation, life-skills training, and career and higher education exploration.
