Description

International School of Jamaica (ISJA) is an environmental organization that focuses on education and economic development for marginalized people in St. Mary. ISJA works in 30 schools implementing an environmental programme, provides community workshops on environmental awareness and environmentally friendly economic opportunities (such as bee keeping) in exchange for charcoal burning and deforestation practices. ISJA also has community development projects such as a community cyber centre. The centre is an educational development and income generating project started through a UNDP project. The centre has 10 computers. Introductory level courses are available for community members. Business publications are also created in the centre.
