Founded in 2000, C.E.O. Women is an award winning microenterprise organization dedicated to addressing systemic poverty and lack of income mobility faced by low-income immigrant and refugee women. C.E.O. Women's mission is to create economic opportunities for low-income immigrant and refugee women through teaching English, communications and entrepreneurship skills.

Description

Since inception, C.E.O. Women has empowered over 1000 low-income immigrant and refugee women with the necessary training and tools to become entrepreneurs and establish successful livelihoods. C.E.O. Women fulfills its mission through the delivery of three core programs:

1. Training--C.E.O. Women has pioneered a 16-week training that includes financial literacy and entrepreneurship training while increasing English language skills.

2. Alumnae Support--C.E.O. Women's "Women Connected" alumnae support program includes individualized technical assistance, networking, mentoring, resources and referrals to assist graduates who are starting or growing their businesses.

3. Access to Capital--C.E.O. Women's "Venture Fund Awards" are $2,000 grants given to qualified women to aid in financing their micro-enterprises.

C.E.O. Women supports immigrant and refugee women in many ways, helping them foster the entrepreneurial spirit, improve their communications skills, start small businesses, and support their families and local communities. C.E.O. Women is a great place to go to be inspired.
