Mission Statement

Americorps*NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) is a national program whose mission is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service.

Description

AmeriCorps*NCCC is a full-time, 10-month residential national service program for young women and men between the ages of 18 - 24. Members serve on environmental projects, education, public safety, disaster relief, and other community needs across the country. Service Projects typically last 4-8 weeks and can vary from tutoring school children to building houses; clearing trails to coordinating food drives; restoring native vegitation to renovating a camp or community center and fighting forest fires. NCCC members are enthusiastic and diverse youth leaders who want to help others and are committed to serving community needs with creativity, leadership, and hard work. Upon successful completion of their term, Corps Members receive a $4,725 education award. There are four Americorps*NCCC campus locations: Denver, CO; Perry Point, MD; Sacramento, CA; and Vinton, IA which service the entire country with a "Get Things Done" attitude.
