Baan Unrak is a women and childrens home and community development project in the beautiful village of Sangklaburi, Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand. Baan Unrak's main objective is to help women and children in need. The surrounding area suffers from instability as families are destroyed by disease, poverty, and cultural changes. Many destitute women cannot support their children and try to sell or give them away. Others turn to prostitiution in an effort to solve their problems. Baan Unrak reaches out to those in need and offers a positive solution of stability and love in the Home of Joy. For 13 years, Baan Unrak and its volunteers have offered women and children food, shelter, psychological care, education, opportunities for creative expression, employment, training, and community service opportunities.
