We're looking for exceptional volunteers to help with a political campaign based in Los Altos. Why public office? After careful consideration, Steve Poizner has decided to run for the Republican nomination for the California State Assembly in the 21st district. But this will not be a traditional political campaign relying on party bosses in Sacramento. My campaign will focus on reforming California's political system -- a system that has failed us here in the Silicon Valley and in all of California. Our state's finances are the worst managed of all 50 states. Our economy continues to suffer, putting at risk environmental protection, transportation, housing and health care. And our schools, once the hallmark of public education in the U.S., continue to fall far behind national standards. Steve's personal goal is to start a political revolution that will take on the problems in state government, one that changes the focus in Sacramento from partisanship to problem-solving. This goal is ambitious. But with my 20 years experience in the private, public, and non-profit sectors -- along with your help -- I believe we can begin a movement that will produce real solutions to the problems facing our state. It's time for new leadership in Sacramento. It's time for nonpartisan problem solvers to head to the state's capitol and get things done. We can, and will, reform the system and make California a better place.
