The mission of the Council is to enable adults and families within the Greator Washington, DC area to acquire basic level literacy skills, including reading, writing, listening, speaking, mathmatics, and technology, which they need to solve problems encountered in their daily lives and to participate fully in their community and in the workplace.

Description

M/DALC is a 17-year-old volunteer, nonprofit, adult literacy organization that seeks to form partnerships with other community organizations to operate four adult education programs throughout the city:adult basic and family literacy, GED preparation, and job training in the areas of office assistance and child development associate.
