Mission Statement
The mission of Bonnet House is to document, preserve, and interpret the winter estate of Frederic and Evelyn Bartlett to reflect their lifestyle, interests, and highly personal aesthetic sense.
Description
Bonnet House Museum & Gardens gives people the opportunity to step back in time to a period of gracious living, charm and whimsy. The House designed and built in 1920 by Frederic Clay Bartlett is one of the few complete homes and studios of a recoginzed American artist open to the public The creativity of the Bartlett family makes the home truly unique. Nestled among miles of beachfront development are the 35 acres of a pristine barrier island system that make up the Bonnet House Estate. Here, you can walk where ancient Tequesta Indians, early European settlers, and shipwrecked sailors once roamed. The Bartletts created and preserved this special retreat.
