These exhibits are maintained and presented in order to encourage environmental awareness in visiting tourists, area residents and school children, with a mission to increase knowledge and interest in the agricultural and horticultural history of our region; to provide a repository for endangered plant and bird species and a living library of specific plants and animals available for research and education and to breed and release in the wild, native South Florida birds.

The gardens are beautiful and relaxing, and our guests are friendly and interesting. Working in the Wray Home is like taking a trip into the past. The volunteer coordinators are very flexible and understanding and always helpful. Very pleasant people to work for.
