Mission Statement

MARYS House is a non-profit organization, a collaboration between local churches, law enforcement, business, and community agencies to provide an immediate shelter for women and their children who are in physical and emotional danger because of abusive partners. The shelter provides safety and security, food, personal items, couseling, victim advocacy, courat advocacy, and emotional support and encouragement.

Description

MARYS House (Ministry Alliance for Regaining Your Safety) staff and volunteers assist and encourage the victims of domestic violence to become productive and proactive citizens of our community. To move to this goal, our clients must be able to make healthy and wise decisions and to become self-reliant; in their progression to this end, the women must realize that they have worth and that their lives have significance. Through our emergency shelter and various programs, we minister to the woman's physical, mental, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs. At MARYS House, we not only assist current victims of abuse through the Christian Womens Job Corps but we also work to break the cycle of domestic violence by promoting youth, family, and community unity, growth, and resiliency through the Girls Circle program model that focuses on creating, restoring, and sustaining healthy relationships.
