Mission Statement

Description

POPS goal is To provide at risk high school students with the knowledge, experience and support necessary to complete high school, pursue a post-secondary experience and find gainful employment.

We have 3 main Objectives:

1. To engage students in workshops and small group mentoring that increases their developmental assets, positive identity and self-confidence. This results in positive academic attainment, increased GPA and on time grade promotion and access to a post-secondary educational experience.

2. To provide professional readiness skills and paid summer internship opportunities that prepare students to perform well in professional settings and compete successfully in a global economy.

3. To provide college readiness workshops and access to college tours that empower students to select, apply and attend post-secondary institutions, best suited to their academic capabilities and financial means.

We do this by offering relevant curriculum workshops and experiences designed to have students gain specific knowledge, skill sets, attitudes, behaviors and values.

WE PROVIDE:

Career Exploration and Assessment
College Entry Preparation and College Tours
Paid Internships
Civic/Community Service Opportunities
Job and Professional Etiquette
Weekly/Monthly Development Sessions
