From students and seniors to nonprofits and schools, everybody needs up-to-date, working computers and many of our fellow community members just can’t afford a new computer. Since 2011, Computer Technology Assistance Corps has been solving technology problem by turning surplus equipment, donated by individuals and businesses into reliable computers for low income community members, nonprofits and public and private schools.
Computers: CTAC provides complete computer systems for low income individuals. These freshly refurbished systems come with up to a one year warranty. Each system includes a fresh and legal copy of Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office Business and Home 2010.
How? A client completes CTAC’s application form and provides proof of financial assistance and or disability documentation, Charities need only provide an IRS tax exemption letter. The completed system is then readied for pick up by the client. Complete system costs just $75 - that is a desktop, keyboard, mouse, LCD monitor and a dose of TLC. Well over 400 computers placed in the last three years.
Computer Repair Service: Every day CTAC fixes computers for low income community members for a nominal repair fee. Our fee for service is the cost of the parts needed plus a general labor cost as low as $45. We have thousands of recovered computer parts on hand potentially reducing repair costs even more.
Tech Support: At a time when charities and schools are seeing budgets being squeezed, CTAC has helped reduce technology costs significantly. Many organizations without tech support staff have turned to CATC for access to a team that knows technology. We freely offer second opinions, and infrastructure reviews. Our onsite tech support team save charities precious resources. Organizations are also eligible to access our warehouse of servers, networking equipment, laser printers, projectors, thin clients and volume pricing on PC’s. CTAC works directly with a charities team to solve their technology needs. We have worked with 20 charities in the last two years.
