Mission Statement

Yolo County RSVP exists to introduce the benefits and rewards of volunteerism to residents of Yolo County who are 55 years of age or older. We use a variety of means to highlight the potential of volunteering and then provide a supportive environment for the exploration of opportunities within our community.

Description

Yolo RSVP is a volunteer recruitment and referral center for Yolo County residents who are at least 55 years old. At RSVP, all future volunteers get advice in finding long term placements with local agencies working to meet the many unfilled social needs in our community. Consultation with RSVP staff can help potential volunteers identify interesting community activities where their experience and skills will be needed and appreciated. Yolo RSVP does not itself provide direct social services. Instead, it connects volunteers with agencies where they can share their lifelong knowledge and experience. At the same time, they benefit from a high quality experience that enriches their lives. If you join RSVP, you will be provided with supplemental liability insurance while working at a sponsored agency.

Yolo RSVP is sponsored by the Sacramento County Department of Human Assistance. Sacramento RSVP and Yolo RSVP are part of the nationwide National Senior Service Corp. Nationally, there are over 750 RSVP programs with 467,000 volunteers serving in 65,000 agencies.
