Mission Statement

Our mission is to make the world a better place for healthy cats and dogs by providing temporary shelter and health care, an alternative to euthanasia, adoptive homes and education to the community about the responsibilities of pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering.

Description

Special Pals services include Adoptions, Boarding, and a low-cost wellness Clinic - the ABC's of being a good pet parent!

Income generated from boarding goes directly back to the shelter to help save more homeless animals.

Our low-cost wellness services include a month shot clinic and discounted spay/neuter services performed by a volunteer veteranarian.

We urge you to visit, spend time with our great animals and maybe take one home!

The shelter facility sits on over 3 1/2 beautifully wooded acres and provides shelter to approximately 100 dogs and cats. We are a selective, limited-intake shelter, meaning that when we have no room, we must refer animals away.

The staff maintains the facilities and cares for the animals 7 days a week. Our wonderful volunteers work daily either "hands on" with the animals or away from the shelter at at fund-raising events or related projects.
