Description
Stella Middle Charter Academy is a charter school in mid city Los Angeles. We opened our doors in June, 2003 and are the first school to be opened as part of the Bright Star School family. We currently serve 240 fifth through eighth grade students, approximately 95% of whom come from socio-economically and/or educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. Our students (also known as estrellitas) are the hardest-working kids in L.A. The students who are behind grade level come to school daily from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. They work extremely hard and are willing to go above and beyond to catch up on what they missed from a traditional LAUSD elementary education. Students who are not behind grade level stay until at least 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and participate in enrichment activities including sports, art, music, drama, and more.
