Mission Statement

The Haitian American Caucus-Haiti (HAC-Haiti) is a community development organization operating in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti. The Haitian American Caucus’ mission is to create a platform by which communities of individuals are empowered to create their own sustainable solutions, thereby enabling them to rise out of poverty and develop their communities. We build lasting partnerships with supporting individuals and organizations focused on empowering the individual in order to empower the community. Because the Haitian motto is, "L’union fait la force," (In unity, there is strength) we vow to improve quality of life by bringing individuals and communities together to promote political, educational and moral values. The needs of this country can no longer be ignored, at HAC-Haiti we believe the time for development is now and are motivated by our motto, "Lè a rive", which means the time has come.

Description

Since 2003 the Haitian American Caucus has supported the functioning of a primary school in Croix-Des-Bouquets Haiti. After the devastating earthquake of January 12th 2010, the Haitian American Caucus expanded its educational efforts in Haiti to promote comprehensive community development, offering programs in woman's empowerment, agriculture, micro finance, and after school education. Our community development programs seek to provide the tools, skills, and venue for individuals to take control of their destiny. We believe that by educationally, economically, and socially, empowering women, children, and families we can create strength that will build a better Haiti.
