Friendly visit volunteers are needed for hospice patients and their loved ones. Drop in & provide a social visit, take a stroll outdoors, porch sit, listen to music, sing a song, read a devotion or short story, catch up on the latest community news, provide companionship to a movie or favorite TV show, or simply provide a listening ear and comforting presence. Friendly visits to provide socialization & support for those at risk of isolation & feelings of loneliness, visit seniors one to two times a month at your convenience Great opportunities for university students and interns! Service learning hours-school and job references/letters of recomendations provided. Note: Must be 18 years of age

It is as simple as one to two hours shared with an elderly person or providing support and understanding to a family caregiver. Whether it is porch sitting, sharing a cup of coffee or a light meal, catching up on family news & current events, reminiscing, or simply a quiet & reassuring presence, you can make a difference Training and one to one assistance is provided throughout your volunteer experience and visit times and locations are chosen and matched to meet each volunteer’s busy schedules, location, and lifestyle preferences. New! Summer 2025 Make a difference right here in your hometown of Greenville & Anderson! Our Respite Care volunteers provide much needed relief, support, and comfort to a primary caregiver or spouse who is caring for their loved one with a life limiting illnesses. This allows the caregiver a much needed break while their loved one enjoys the comfort, security, and support of a loving volunteer. Often family caregivers are on duty 24/7. This can be exhausting and sometimes emotionally and physically tolling. Respite volunteers provide the caregiver that much deserved time to recharge and find that balance needed to take care of themselves and their loved one. Your gift of time and support is healing for all! Volunteers are needed for 2 hours per shift 1-2 times a month to allow caregivers a opportunity to run errands, attend to selfcare and personal appointments, or simply a shopping trip, meal out, recreational or religious activity among friends. Training will be provided. (No hands on care is needed or provided by Respite Volunteers. Our nurses and care team are available 24/7 for support)
