Mission Statement
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Description
We need large numbers of volunteers to help make our local competitions a success. Volunteers fill positions such as awards presenter, concessions, event officials, & athlete escorts.
In addition we are also always looking for dedicated individuals to help as coaches for athletes for regional & state level competitions. Seasonally, we train athletes in 16 sports. Each sport practices on a weekly schedule during their season. Times & locations vary.
