Mission Statement

To provide grief support and mentoring services to young women who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

Our vision is to educate young women about the causes, warning signs, and dangers of grief that often leads to silent suffering.

The participants also learn ways to get help and cope with emotional and mental challenges that come with this epidemic.

Would you recommend A LEGACY Left Behind, Inc.?

I agreed with the previous reviews. If you decide to volunteer or be an intern for them as Graphic Designer, you will have to create everything from scratches, because all they have is low quality jpeg files. They also will make you make everything goes BIG and BOLD in one tiny flyer (which already has a lot going on). PRO: It is a working experience. CONS: You won't learn any design, creative skills from them. They are not likely open for new creative ideas.

I worked for ALegacyLeftBehind for about a week. I volunteered for them as a graphic designer. As an introductory project the owner decided she wanted me to create a flyer. My first assignment was to create a flyer for their women empowerment meeting. She wanted me to use the same font for the flyers that she has used in the past. She was not able to send me the InDesign or Photoshop files. If you want someone to use the exact font as previous flyers you need to either have the name of the font or the original document. A word of advice to all company owners that are hiring Graphic Designers, should have the original file with your logo on it with the font too. An acceptable file would be a Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or Illustrator file. If you can not provide the logo please be able to provide a high resolution picture that has the logo on it. I was sent super pixelated flyers to work from. I had to spend time recreating the files from scratch.

I gave it 5 stars because its for a good cause and it would be a good opportunity for people who are good at art and want to help people.
