Mission Statement

"Doing the most good."

Mission The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center ministries in the United
States provide an in-residence rehabilitation program with a focus on basic
necessities. Each beneficiary (program participant) is provided with a clean and
healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities,
group and individual counseling, spiritual direction, and resources to assist
each person to develop life skills and a personal relationship with God as
provided by Jesus Christ.

Description

The Adult Rehabilitation Center program assists the beneficiaries in
learning to live a balanced lifestyle. Participation in all program components
is required by every beneficiary. We use work as therapy to assist persons in
learning or re-learning how to be productive, participate cooperatively, follow
instructions, contribute towards a goal, and maintain balance. We use individual
and group counseling to assist with character formation (a change of thinking
and behavior). We offer spiritual direction to help the beneficiaries embrace
the practical application of the Christian faith as a lifestyle and encourage
them to become established in a church community of their choice. Each center is
able to offer other services on site or in conjunction with available community
resources.
