Description
WHO WE ARE We currently have 60 Mayflower Members on our contact list. We usually have 20-25 people who come to serve on Saturdays. WHAT WE DO We serve lunch at 11:00 every other Saturday at the Wiley Post Park, south of downtown on Robinson. Currently we are preparing enough food for 250 servings. Most of our friends who come to lunch are either homeless, displaced or living in temporary shelters downtown. Some have places to live, but enjoy coming and having a good meal on a Saturday. We provide a meal, clean socks and underwear, toiletry items, and sometimes a blanket or a backpack along with a smiling face. In August, we gave 80 backpacks with school supplies to the children of the families who come to lunch. At Christmas we provide something special with warmth in mind such as blankets, hats/socks/gloves, coats or sweats. We meet on the 1st Wednesday of every month at 7:00 in the parlor at Mayflower Church to plan the meals for the month and we always welcome new members.
