Mission Statement

Founded in 1985, the Silver Eye Center for Photography promotes the art of contemporary photography and visual storytelling to inspire, educate, and empower individuals and communities. To this purpose, we produce a wide variety of challenging, innovative exhibitions and educational programs that serve as catalyst for creative engagement with diverse local, state, national and international audiences.

Description

Located on Pittsburgh's historic Southside, Silver Eye Center for Photography is the only nonprofit exclusively devoted to contemporary photography in the Pittsburgh region. We are an award-winning organiation that presents a yearly roster of special exhibitions, lectures, workshops, tours and other programs for students and teachers, families, adults and youth.
