City of Shawnee

This will be my third year to do photos for Shawnee. This has been one of my most rewarding things I have done. I live in Overland Park but found this online and decided to give it a try as I am retired now. First off Elizabeth Griffith who is in charge of the volunteers for Shawnee is such a wonderful person to work with, and I have enjoyed every minute working with her these past two years. The second thing is the people of Shawnee. When I first started I wondered how enjoyable this would actually be. From the very first event which was the Hero's Pull at Splash Cove the people were super nice and fun to be around. Also the the people that run each event are the nicest people you would ever want to meet, and you couldn't find better people to be around. If you are wondering if you should volunteer for Shawnee, don't. Call Elizabeth as soon as you can and see what things you would like to volunteer for. You won't be sorry. The city makes it very easy and convenient for you to volunteer. I photographed many events for them and I always had a great time and had fun taking pictures. Their volunteer coordinator, Elizabeth, is fantastic and willing to work with your schedule. I highly recommend volunteering for Shawnee!
