The Sierra Club's mission is to Explore, Enjoy and Protect the Planet by connecting people to the environment and resources that sustain our survival.

Description

We are a volunteer led, volunteer run organization as the oldest Environmental orginazation in the US. We were founded by John Muir in 1892 as an organization who purpose was to show people Yosemite (the Sierra Mountains) with the porpuse of protecting. Muir inspired Roosevelt to create the National Parks System and the Sierra Club has been working torwads protecting air quality, land conservation and water quality ever since.
