MISSION STATEMENT
Seeking to put God’s Love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Habitat for Humanity is an international organization that:
-is founded on and demonstrates the love and teachings of Jesus Christ through its actions.
-advocates on behalf of people in need of decent shelter.
-works to empower families to live in simple, decent and affordable homes.
-engages local communities in addressing their housing needs with sustainable solutions.
-provides an opportunity for people to put their faith and love into action.
-accomplishes its worldwide mission primarily through volunteers.
-is faithful to the purpose for which resources are given, managing them to bring maximum benefit to the mission.
Habitat for Humanity is a worldwide, grassroots movement with a presence in nearly 80 countries.
In the Unites States, Habitat for Humanity’s work is accomplished at the community level by more than 1500 affiliates, which are independently, locally run, nonprofit organizations.
Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah is proud to be among those affiliates, who are seeking to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and we recognize that it all starts in our own backyard.
Description
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical housing ministry that relies on donations, fundraising and volunteers to provide local families with a decent place to live.
Since the affiliate was established in 1998, Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah has provided housing for 80 people in Washington County.
This organization is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours into building their Habitat house and the houses of others.
Each house built, each family served, each life forever changed begins with one person like you that decided to make a difference.
