Mission Statement

Friends of L.A. Animal Shelters (FriendsofLAAS) is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping L.A.'s city animal shelters. Los Angeles has been hit hard by the economic downturn and Animal Services, like other departments, has had financial resources severely cut. We raise funds to provide veterinary care and innovative adoption programs that the city shelters do not have funding for. Our goal is to increase the live save rate of L.A.'s city animal shelters.

Description

We are a newly launched nonprofit looking for volunteers to join our Committees:

  • Fund Development Committee
  • Marketing Committee
  • Events Committee
  • Finance Committee

Our nonprofit is entirely volunteer-run, so by joining a Committee, you'd be helping set the strategy and future for this organization. We are looking for experienced professionals who can jump in with both feet to help the animals!

We also have a special project that we need volunteers for:

In January, we're opening the first pet store that's 100% dedicated to saving the lives of L.A.'s orphaned animals. "L.A. Love & Leashes" is located in Westside Pavilion mall. Dogs and cats from the city's shelters will be on site, available for on-the-spot adoption. Visitors can shop for unique gift items for animal lovers. The proceeds from the store will go directly to help L.A.'s orphaned animals.
