Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
building the lives of Milwaukee's youth through tennis and education, one child at a time.
For the past decade, MTEF has continued to improve its programs offered to the youth of Milwaukee who are interested in learning how to play tennis and improve their academic status, while becoming leaders in the community.
For our work in 2010, MTEF was recognized as the number-two National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) chapter in the United States, out of 604 organizations, and one of only four chapters to receive the United State Tennis Association’s (USTA) highest four-star rating. It is this recognition that tells board members, funders, parents, volunteers and youth that the programs being offered by MTEF are making a difference.
In 2009, MTEF leadership, with help of a nationally recognized consulting firm, set out to develop a comprehensive measurement system centered around MTEF’s four main objectives -academics, tennis, fitness/nutrition, and life skills development. This project, which was part of the Ford Foundation’s Community Building Through Recreational Facilities initiative, explored the impact of tennis in mixed-race, mixed income communities.
