Description

Sandy Spring Museum interprets Montgomery County's rural heritage, exploring the community's long tradition of leadership in social justice (anti-slavery and women's rights), technology and agriculture, transportation (C&O Canal, B&O Railroad), commerce, politics, and civic life. Through exhibits, programs, publications, and education, the Museum welcomes visitors of all ages to learn about and learn from a community that, though rural, was never isolated.
