Mission Statement

Our Mission:
The Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that creates and protects sustainable mountain biking opportunities in Washington State.

Evergreen is Washington State's largest mountain bike advocacy and trail building group. Created in 1989 as a grassroots solution to providing access to local trail networks closing to riders, Evergreen (formerly BBTC) became a viable force in the trail building and advocacy community. Due to the progression and growth of the sport, the past decade has lent itself to the expansion of the organization. Evergreen has 5 paid full time staff, three part time staff, and an expansive network of dedicated volunteers ready to assemble, build, teach, and advocate throughout the year.

Evergreen boasts of:

  • A network of over 3500 members/contributors.
  • Over 10,000 volunteer hours annually.
  • Over 1000 individual volunteers annually.
  • Over 700 rides led per year.
  • Over 200 Mountain Bike Camp graduates introduced to the sport and the culture each year.

It is Evergreen's goal to make Washington the best place in the country to ride a mountain bike. We are doing this by:

Advocating: Evergreen advocates for trail access and funding with city, county, state, and federal officials. In addition, we coordinate volunteers to protect, maintain, and build single and shared use trails and mountain bike parks.

Educating: Evergreen educates the public on the benefits of mountain biking, mountain biking skills, and on sustainable trail building techniques. Through the Evergreen Education program new and experienced riders learn technical mountain biking skills that enhance their ability level, safety, and enjoyment riding trails.

Recreating: Evergreen provides recreational activities to anyone who wants to go mountain biking. Our volunteers host group rides that are posted on our calendar, exposing interested riders to new trails and new friends.
