To make books part of a healthy childhood by promoting early childhood literacy through pediatric care.

Description

Reach Out and Read (ROR) is a program designed to promote early childhood language and literacy development within a pediatric setting. The program is structured with 3 main components: 1) volunteer readers/storytellers in health center waiting rooms; 2) parent education and support; and 3) distribution of new, developmentally and culturally appropriate books by medical providers during well child visits.
