is a Minnesota-based, non-profit volunteer organization whose focus is to serve the underprivileged of the world by providing specialized medical and surgical services in a safe, compassionate, and culturally sensitive manner: and to promote in-country self -sufficiency through professional training and support.
Our primary focus is cleft lip and cleft palate. As circumstances arise and our expertise allows, we will also do the following:
Burn scar revisions
Uncomplicated orthopedic procedures
Health screening and education
Children's Surgery International has just completed three medical missions to St Damien's Children's Hospital, Port Au Prince, Haiti, CIMA Hospital Hermosillo, Mexico and Rangpur Medical College, Rangpur, Bangladesh. We will be traveling to Duside Hospital, Firestone, Harbel Liberia in January. Our teams consist of surgeons, pediatricians, anesthesilogists, crnas, registered nurses and biomed techs. Missions for the rest of 2012 are being planned now.
