Description

The Havenwood program meets basic needs by providing a safe and secure place to live. We empower families by providing family, group and indiviudal counseling. We connect residents with community support and resources to break down the barriers eace family faces in order to move from homelessness to self-sufficency and transform thier family.

We have 15 fully furnished apartments for single parents with one to two children under the age of twleve. Parents sign a six month lease and pay rent that includes rent, utilities, basic cable, wi-fi and all program amenities. They can live at Havenwood for up to two years, but our average length of stay is six months. We have onsite laundry, a clothing closest, a small food pantry, and a donation closet.

Residents must work or attend school full time. They agree to participate in the program - set goals, work with a case manager, have an anssessment done by the counselor, develop a budget, attend weekly group education/therapy sessions to learn new life skills and coping skills to overcome the obstacles that brought them to Havenwood. They have weekly apartment inspections and a community chore. Every aspect of our program is designed to teach them the skills they need to be successful in traditional housing.
