Mission Statement

The Dunn Loring Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department was formed to carry out the following objectives: To server as a volunteer organization to fight fires and to perform rescue and other benevolent work. The Dunn Loring VFRD shall function as an integral part of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. To buy, own, maintain and operate such equipment as may be necessary and proper. To conduct fire prevention campaigns and to take on all necessary steps and actions for the purpose of safeguarding lives and property. To acquire real property for the use of the fire department, and to construct buildings and make necessary repairs and alterations to existing buildings, and to maintain the same. To raise funds for the above purpose in any lawful manner including the borrowing of money.
