Austin Shakespeare presents professional theatre of the highest quality with an emphasis on the plays of William Shakespeare, bringing to the public performances that are fresh, bold, imaginative, thought-provoking, and eminently accessible, connecting the truths of the past with the challenges and possibilities of today.

Description

Austin Shakespeare, Austin's premier Actor's Equity classical theater company, relies on individual volunteers like YOU to perform Shakespeare in Zilker Park, classic plays at the Long Center, Young Shakespeare at the Curtain theater, and make visits to classrooms!

From our beginning production of Shakespeare in Zilker Park over 30 years ago to today's productions of classical plays in multiple venues, volunteers have been a critical part of our staff. Please join our fun crews and enable us to deliver outstanding theatrical experiences!

You meet lots of nice people and it was a good play but it was cancelled because of the rain and it was outdoors

At Austin Shakes, I work with a diverse group of volunteers and staff that are fun to be around. Our audiences and students are also appreciative of our efforts. They frequently give us praise. Most volunteer positions provide short work shifts and the chance to see a performance. Join us and celebrate fine classical theater in Austin.
