Description

In November 1st, 2001, Boat People S.O.S. - Raleigh office was established. Since then it has been serving more than 1000 out of 4,700 Vietnamese American immigrants and refugees throughout North Carolina, particularly in the triangle area. This population has been under-served due to the linguistic and cultural barriers that prevent them from fully integrated to the American mainstream society. The office capacity has been mainly funded through Federal funding on two programs. The first one is Health Awareness Programs for Immigrants Plus (HAPI+). The second one is Community Awareness Campaign on Occupational Safety (CACOS).
