Description

As you know, finding a job is extremely challenging in today’s economic environment. The situation can be particularly daunting for older Americans, many having trouble finding the help and guidance they need. You can make a real, positive difference.

A Virtual Job Coach volunteer is one of AARP Foundation’s WorkSearch newest areas of service that assist mature workers 40+ prepare and find employment. In conjunction with the WorkSearch Program each Virtual Job Coach is able to provide one-on-one assistance/support to each client via phone and on-line. Some assist job seekers in understanding the best techniques and resources for today’s job search; developing an effective resume and/or preparing for an interview and understanding how to use the free WorkSearch online assessment system to understand their skills and interests and connect to training and employment opportunities in their communities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys working and helping people while gaining vital skills themselves.
