Mission Statement

Opera Colorado's mission is to promote opera to the widest possible audience through educational and cultural activities.

Description

Opera Colorado presents several mainstage productions each year at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. For season 2004, Opera Colorado will present La Boheme, the Barber of Seville, and La Traviata. All productions are performed in their original languages with English supertitles. In conjunction with these productions, the company presents many opportunities for adult and child education as it pertains to the music, culture, history, acting, and staging of these productions at little or no cost. These opportunities are in the form of back stage workshops, guest lectures, student matinees, and other events. In addition to these mainstage productions, Opera Colorado, through its outreach artists, provides educational services to schools and community centers across the state. These productions are geared to children and present opera and the vocal arts to communities who may not have access to performing arts organizations.
