Do you have career, college or trade experience that you can share with our students? Are you passionate about helping others achieve their dreams? Then you could be a match for the Canby High School ASPIRE Program. Canby High School Career Center is looking for volunteers who will meet with students to help them explore college and career options. As part of the ASPIRE Program, volunteers will meet with Juniors and Seniors and help them think about their plans after high school. This can include talking through colleges, trade schools, training programs, helping them choose the best fit for their goals, and applying for grants and scholarships. Our volunteers help students explore the many different options for after high school. In this position, you work as a member of the Career Center team. Training, oversight, materials and support is provided. We provide all the tools you need to succeed! Qualifications: -Experience with a career, college, trade school or university (as yourself or as a family member) -Desire, patience and ability to work with teenage students -Pass background check and interview process -Sensitivity to challenges faced by teenage students -Reliable, dependable and consistent with your schedule -Professional and personable at all times Schedule: -We are looking for volunteers who want a long-term volunteer commitment (six months or more). Volunteers help us September - June during the school day, with breaks for holidays, travel, etc. -Volunteers typically work 2-3 hour shifts. -We can be flexible with the number of hours volunteers commit to per month, but most help between 3 hours per month - 12 hours per month.

Eccles, Knight, Lee, and Carus serve K-6 students; Trost Elementary School is a dual language (Spanish and English) immersion magnet school serving K-6 students on a lottery basis; Ninety-One serves rural K-8 students; Baker Prairie Middle School serves grades 7 & 8; and Canby High serves grades 9-12.
