Mission Statement

Pathway at UCLA Extension is a program that provides a college experience to young adults with developmental disabilities on UCLA's campus. We are looking for three types of volunteers. The first are volunteers or interns who can devote about 10 hours/week working as educational coaches for Pathway students. This will entail people who are very dedicated to individually supporting our students in self-advocacy and utilizing resources here on campus. The second are as mentors on-the-job. This area consists of supporting students on how to properly interact with co-workers and supervisors, how to fully comprehend their job duties, and how to ask for additional clarification when needed. This position is about educating our students to advocate for themselves in the work place and the commitment is about 10 hours/week, as well. The third group are more casual volunteers to work with our students during tutoring, socializing, or exercise-related activities. These volunteers would be asked to make a weekly contribution of a couple of hours. We are looking for volunteers over 18 years old who want to tutor, mentor, exercise, and plan activities with our students, primarily during night and weekend hours.
