I was looking forward to retirement and all of the time that I would have free to do things. The first couple of months were great! Then I took some trips and had a lot of fun. The time spent after those events, however, was lonely and a little depressing. A friend steered me to the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. Boy, what a life saver! The staff was very friendly and considerate of my wish for a place to volunteer that really needed me. They let me pick the times and place that I wanted to volunteer at and it has become part of my weekly schedule. I look forward to volunteering whenever I am scheduled, and am no longer lonely and bored. The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program has helped make life lively and fun again.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program fit volunteering back into my life. I thought my schedule was too busy for volunteering - the folks at RSVP showed me I was wrong. One of the best things about the program is that I could choose from volunteering at one location or multiple locations for many organizations. They also let me choose the times and locations most convenient for me. They also went out of their way to find out what my talents, skills and interests were prior to placing me in a volunteer position - I really appreciated their attention to detail. The staff were all friendly and personable. I would highly recommend the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program to anyone wishing to get involved and make a difference in their communities and thier lives.
