Mission Statement

WORK Inc. is the largest employer of people with disabilities in the region. The agency has a myriad of programs -- Day-Habilitation, Deaf Services, Family Support, Independent Living, Residential, Transportation, and Vocational Services -- which all converge toward one goal: "To make the lives of individuals with disabilities better"

Today, WORK Inc. serves over 800 individuals with all types of disabilities, is New England’s leader in the Federal AbilityOne contracts (with over 100 individuals with disability working at any given time), and provides complete facilities management for many buildings including the John F. Kennedy Library, a national landmark. The agency operates 12 twenty-four hour residential sites serving 60 individuals, and assists another 100 individuals with its supported living programs. With a current budget of over 24 million dollars, WORK Inc.’s dedicated staff and managers continue its mission to provide vocational training and placement services that make the lives of individuals with disabilities better and more independent.

Description

Financial Empowerment Services assists people with disabilities, their families and the wider low income community to achieve financial stability. AmeriCorps members create real change in people’s lives by providing high quality financial education and counseling, educating people about available income-boosting tax credits and teaching people who receive benefits from social security about available work incentives and programs to help them build assets.
