Mission Statement

CASA for Children provides high quality child advocacy to abused and neglected children through trained community volunteers. We devote 100% of our focus to this mission.We adhere to national and state standards to implement the very best practices in child abuse response within the court system and within the community. CASA volunteers bring urgency to a foster child's situation, working so that children get the intervention services that are necessary for them to recover and break the cycle of abuse. Since our humble beginnings 16 years ago, we have served over 1,500 innocent victims of abuse through over 500 trained community volunteers.

Description

CASA is the only volunteer organization that empowers everyday citizens as appointed members of the court. In an overburdened social welfare system, abused and neglected children often slip through the cracks among hundreds of current cases. CASA volunteers change that. Appointed by judges, CASA volunteers typically handle just one case at a time--and commit to staying on that case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. While others may come and go, CASA volunteers provide that one constant that children need in order to thrive.
