The mission of the Jacksonville Speech & Hearing Center is to provide the highest quality professional and compassionate care to all individuals with hearing, speech and/or language disorders in our community.
Description
The Jacksonville Speech & Hearing Center is a non-profit health facility whose mission is to provide the highest quality professional and compassionate care to all individuals (both children and adults) with hearing, speech and/or language disorders in the Northeast Florida area. The Center has been serving the greater-Jacksonville community since 1949, is conveniently located in downtown Jacksonville with its own parking lot, and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Volunteers are needed to assist staff throughout the year with conducting free hearing screenings at various community and corporate health/wellness fairs, governmental offices, various civic/service/professional organizations, and at private schools.
Volunteers with expertise in specific areas are needed to assist staff throughout the year with:
- Special events planning
- Fundraising, Development and Marketing
- Public Relations and Social Media
- Community Outreach
- Research
- Outreach to physician offices
Volunteer activities can be tailored to the particular interests, expertise and experience of volunteers.
