Cities for All Ages is seeking volunteers! Our goal is to help Baltimore residents age safely in their homes. We are looking for handypeople to make small repairs in the homes of seniors. MOST of our opportunities are for painting a room! Other tasks will be simple - fixing door knobs, minor repairs or replacing the batteries in smoke detectors - and materials and tools will be provided. We're looking for volunteers who could work on one or two projects per month. Individuals and pairs are welcome! You set the schedule! The projects are at homes throughout Baltimore City and some in the County as well. Make a difference in a seniors' life! Become a Handyperson today. Contact blee@civicworks.com.

The time for this opportunity is every Wednesday from 8am-11am. We take two individuals or two family pods each week. Landscaping our farm is so important to the community and the productivity of the farm! We grow 5,000 pounds of food each year but that cannot be done without our neighbors. We like to keep the farms looking good so we can attract more help from our neighbors! (Landscaping also prevents falling, makes the crops easier to access and grow, encourages neighbors to keep their green spaces clean too!) There are so many reasons to do land management and landscaping at our farm! Our farms are directly responding to Covid by supplying produce to our seniors who can't leave their homes or have access to healthy food. So, we are looking for individuals or small families or pods (because of Covid Restrictions) who are willing to show up for three hours, grab some tools and gloves and do some work! The work ranges from weed whacking to mowing to pulling weeds to spreading mulch to picking up trash! You sign up for a time slot and meet us onsite and we'll give you all you need to fulfill the task! When you arrive at 8, you'll help to load our truck with fresh produce for our Affordable Food program and then be given instructions from our farmers and have 3 hours of wonderfully productive time outside! Our time slots are on every Wednesday from 9am-12pm. It's BYOG (gloves) if you want but we'll have some clean ones there if you don't have any. Sign up with Becka Lee at blee@civicworks.com and you'll get connected to farmers who will instruct you on the tasks at hand! This is a GREAT chance to get some fresh air and make a difference! And we'll be doing this all year!

Get outside! Join our Community Landscape Team as they transform abandoned lots into beautiful community gardens and green spaces. Volunteers are needed to help with gardening and landscape work. Tasks may include picking up litter, cutting down weeds, installing walkways, creating garden beds, and planting trees. Research suggests that cleaning neglected lots not only improves the appearance of the area, it also makes the neighborhood safer and healthier. No experience is necessary to volunteer with us. All work is outdoors, and most work is physically demanding. Due to safety issues on some of our lots, we encourage our volunteers to be 14+. OUR SITE CHANGES EVERY WEEK! YOU'LL BE GIVEN THE LOCATION WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR A DAY. Groups are welcome to schedule service days Wednesdays or Thursdays for 3 or 4 hours between 9am and12pm.We can take up to 15 people and as few as you want! Apply here or email blee@civicworks.com. Individual volunteers can join us on any Wednesday or Thursday or the 3rd Saturday of the month from 9-12. The locations vary according to what lots we are working on. Contact blee@civicworks.com to get on the schedule or apply here. We also often add another Saturday a month.
